I wrote you from Detroit a week ago Thursday PM. That PM I went to the conference on Woman's work and could hardly hear much. Dr. Dowkontt* of the International Medical Missionary Soc. and Institute N.Y. City talked and in his work and words I was intensely interested. He told of the awful need of knowledge of Medicine in nearly all the missionary lands - the terrible suffering of people and the frightful ignorance of the creatures, even the ones called doctors. And then told of the school he had in N.Y. City where the students get reduced rates at the regular Med. Colleges and board cheaply together, have some Bible study and a good deal of practical Medical Mission | ||
