month. Read the stories by Helen Gardner "Pushed by Unseen Hands" also Bret Harte's "Ward of the Golden Gate" and "Ardis Claverden" by Frank Stockton. Enjoyed the last-named very much indeed. Have you ever read it? All three are books that have sate upon our shelves ever since I can remember. I took two pictures of Malcolm yesterday in his new overalls, wearing one of Max's old straw hats. Will try to get a good one of the dog and some of M. in his velvet trousers, then will send them to you. These are the first pictures I have taken since last summer when we were in Michigan. Have just gotten over the warmest week of weather I have every known in May. It got up to 90 every day and sometimes to 92. Then at night it remained at 75 or thereabouts so we have not had a chance to cool off until last night when it dropped to 64. Is not 68 - 10 o'clock D.S. time. Dr. Saunders died about ten days ago - has a Masonic funeral. Diabetes, I think. Have not seen Mrs. S. as stay home all time now. Felt like sending her a congratulatory note but have refrained. Am mailing your calling cards.
