Got home just ahead of a storm. The $50 came Sat. but couldn't get it until this aft. The bank was closed so I couldn't do what I mean to with the money - invest in war bonds. There is no use dreaming and speculating about going anywhere. I thought of going to Green Cove Springs - near Jax - for a little trip after I had cancelled my reservations for a room and board in Highlands. But I find the same difficulty. I was bathing when the ice man came and didn't hear their call - Today I showed him the buzzer and told him to ring that when he couldn't rouse me otherwise. So glad you had so many holidays and a good visit with the kids. Can almost taste that cherry pie! Mr. Wells just finished painting the garage Sat. aft. It looks nice. Much love to all, Mother. | |||
