Many efforts have been made to destroy the Bible - to banish it entirely from the world, but it has stood, while empires and kingdoms have fallen. Those nations which obeyed its precepts have been blessed and prospered while those who neglected it and affected to despise its precepts have felt God's just displeasure and in some instances been entirely overthrown. It is to the Bible that his people owe their prosperousness and happy state.
