Sept 3 Rose about 6 this morn, and went off over the prairies horseback, had a fine ride. I do hope that my health will improve that I shall be able to labor more. Sept 4. rode to | Sept 4. rode to Lockpt in the morning with Mr. & Mrs. Knapp - Just got home when I was sent for to go to one of the neighbors with the Melodian. Stayed there till between two and three. went with Mrs K to another neighbors - Mr. Paddocks for the afternoon There seemed to be no rest for me. | ||
Sept -5. Sabb. Went to meeting twice. text in the forenoon from Prov. 22-5 - very good. Heard my Sabbath S. Class. Oh! that I could say something wh. would lead them to give their hearts to the Saviour. could I be the means of one conversion, how grateful should I feel to God. Oh that I may be useful. | |||
Sep 6 - Rose this morn expecting to go into school as usual, but at breakfast - Mr. K. happened to think it would do me good to accompany him - wife & Josephine on a trip to Aurora to Milo. I thought it might be beneficial to and decided to send word to the school house that there would be no school till Thursday. So here I am at Plainfield where I expect to pass the night. Had some tomatos for the first time - very fine. | |||
Sept. 7 - rainy day. obliged to remain at Plainfield - spent the day at Dea. Ashley. Shall probably not go any farther as we must get home tomorrow. | |||
Sept 8 - Came home through Lockport stopped at the office & found a letter from home. God has mercifully spared my dear parents and brother. how grateful should I be. But he has taken one of my most loved companions, one north? of home I hoped [[again?]] [[faded words]] one whom I [[?]] last? have selected as deaths victim Abby Bunnham? had followed her mother..the world of spirit how many [[mournings?]] do I have Oh! |
