I received a letter from father this morning  Am always glad to hear from home + this morning especially so for I am alone this week. Charlie went to New York Sunday P.M. + will gone all this week + it is rather lonesome [[underscore]] like to stay in the house with more than half of the windows fastened down with sticks + glass out of front door + the like. But I have survived three nights
