Long ere this I dare say you have arrived at the conclusion that I had forgotten you or became indifferent about redeeming my promise but neither of these is, I assure you, for you are bound to me by the fondest ties and your memory will ever be cherished with fond recollection, I have neglected writeing [sic] more on the account of inability than anything else. I have been failing since nine weeks last Sunday till last Saturday and for two weeks ending last Sunday Mrs. Strong declared there was no chance for me and I [see?]  none for myself. The Dr. did not say much about it but I am. That I was supposedly failing, and I had been satisfied for a number of weeks that the new [?] would do me any good.
