I suppose you remember hearing of her husband, the Rev. Jedidiah Burchard the revivalist. He stays here with her. I believe it is the first case of insanity they have had here; she has only been here about a week. Miss Royce is gaining Dr. seems quite encouraged about her now that she will be able to walk before long. Oh, Mary, I have had a compliment for you from here, and a first rate one too. I wish I could remember just how it went, but perhaps it is as well that I cannot, as it might make you vain. She thought you were a pretty smart girl anyway. — I cannot write much more as it is almost dark. I hope you will pardon the look of this letter, and that you will be able to read it. Excuse the size of the sheet you see it is not very good shape. I cut it short so that I could hold it better and left it wide so I could have more room. I am getting better as you may judge by the length of this letter. I hope that in the course of a few weeks to write that I am beginning to sit up. I stand my baths much better.
