  Found where several Elk had been scratching & pawing & our approach had undoubtedly driven them to cover. We have been very unlucky on this hunt in the wind. Start whatever direction we may, the wind is sure either to be [[unclear]] or to go directly against our success --
  Camped at side hill spring.
