	~~Broke camp 6.40 am Left the Niobrara at once & marched south west over a long succession of rolling prairie - in some places very sandy - Reached the~~ [[~~Rawhide?~~]] ~~at 12.50 pm distance 23 miles - Major got in at 3 pm, which was doing wonderfully considering the road & the distance - tried fishing but the fish are scarce~~
