to-day all seem anxious to hear the result of the St. Louis meeting but say nothing. Friday Aug 10th 1888. Today in Chicago [[Opr.]] reported at the Agency at 8 A.M. and proceeded to the Union Dept. & from there rode to 16th St. on an empty train of coaches & saw a few of the [[unclear]] switchmen but did not learn anything new from them, and want to [[unclear]] Bros but did not see many of the boys and what he did see knew nothing so he went to dinner & in the afternoon he went down to [[unclear]] but there was no one there & [[Opr.]] went from there to [[unclear]] Bros. and saw a few of the gang & had a talk with the two Prudy Bros. Jarett [[unclear]]-gerald x one or two others but they all said there was nothing new from the meeting & that everything was just the same. It's not likely any thing will be done here at any rate not until after they result of the St. Louis meeting in Know [[Opr.]] stopped there until 8:30 P.M. when most every one had gone & as he could learn nothing he also went home. Everything is just the same every day, nothing is done at the meetings except read the communications from along the line which are the same every day all asking the men to stick it out, but the men are getting sick of it they say and most of them wish something would turn up.
