The winter is really not an unfavorable time to take the journey being all by cars then you could come with them. Why is not this a feasible plan? They certainly mean to come & see us sometime & when will there be a better time.  We have received a few brief lines from Samuel wife lately about little Gertie  the last informed us of her death.

Eliab & Mollie are no doubt deeply afflicted  I wrote them a letter last week.  I have had no letter from Lucy for some time;  She is without help or was when Sam'l wrote.  She has had much to do lately with so many in her family  their house seems to be quite a family depot!  I think you must have a hard time about now, I think of you carrying the babies up & down stairs,  I hope you have good help  I am so glad Isaac can be there to assist;  so you be careful & put some restraint
