Charles came last Sat. about 10 P.M. We had retired but were not asleep were very glad to get up to welcome him. I am glad to see him looking so well in health and spirits his Western trip seems to have been beneficial to him. I should not wonder if his home should look a little cheerless, dreary & cold when he first arrives there; he makes but a short stay only yesterday (Sabbath & to day thinks he must go on tomorrow in order to reach Bangor to stay next Sat & Sunday. But two days is greatly better than none. I write a few words by him because it will reach you sooner than by mail, but have little to say only that we are well & happy, enjoying the | ||

I do not care how soon the cloak comes now | I do not care how soon the cloak comes now they will of course take a week for Express charge & send it with the rest of the bill & we will immediately send the money, I have a velvet bonnet this winter but have had my share done over trimmed with dark brown velvet & a black feather saving some four or five dolls.
