Dear Mother
Your small slips of a letter is I believe yet unanswered so to I must endeavor to show you that I am thankful for that little in hope to get more next time.  Lucy's last short letter I was very glad to receive.  I appreciate the difficulty of her finding time more to write frequent long letters, but I do want to hear from you often.  I am away off cannot step over and see how you are all getting along.  I feel anxious especially on account of little Persy  I have feared for him ever since we left there and I  am not without fears still that I shall ever see his sweet little face again.
