The prey. Inds. confined to Deer I. are the people with whom the above written "grmts. were made, wherein subjection  & mutual protection are engaged, & these Inds. as is before declared, made discovery of what they kn[["o"crossed out]] ew of the plottings & conspiracy of the eny. before the war began: also most readily & cheerfully joined with & assisted the Eng. in the war as is before in part touched & will more cly. appear in sequel of this discourse , also they submitted themselves to the laws of god & the Eng. govt., & desiring themselves & childn. to be taught & instructed in the chrn. relign. & have in all othr. po[[?] ts, so far as I know( for the body of them) kept & performed the  articles of their covenant above expressd,, when the genl. court had read & considered this agreemt., it had this effect ( thro' gods grace) in some degree to abate the clamors of many men agt. these Inds. 1675 . Before the genl. court adjournd.. which was not until the 28 of Feby., they had voted & concluded to raise an army of 600 men, to be put under the conduct of Maj. Thos.
