I feel at present, somewhat uncertain what course to take - am waiting for some further indication of Providence, - I have always felt that there was much instability in my present situation - There must be in a school of this kind, but especially in any case, Uncle Natty has recently spoken to Joseph about having the schoolhouse moved in order to set up a store on the corner: if he insists upon it, expense must be insured in having it moved to another spot which again may ere long be wanted: besides my school does not give me either the satisfaction or income that my incessant labors ought to bring.

What say you to going with me in the way of your profession to Penn. or Virginia, or to the Western States? I mean in good earnest to set myself about making inquiries, writing letters, to see if some opening cannot be found in which my time and energies may turn to better account than at present. Mr. Wetherell leaves his school in a few weeks. it is to pass into other hands and how it may affect my school is uncertain but I have no reason to think favorably, as any new teacher will be apt for a time to be popular, in this
