June 1 Friday, Today we passed the Kenekuk mission some forty miles West of the River. Tho a [[unclear]] County it looks like a Gentleman's park in England. Such splendid broad well [[traversed?]] Road and a County with all that nature could do to beautify one exhausts every moment that [[Lovers?]] [[spend?]]. Made the acquaintance of Q.? Chester of Kansas. Donaphan Co, left our goods in charge of a friend of Harrison Calves of Cottonwood unclear. Road good but hilly.
