Set out this morning Eastward upon the Stage road leading towards Salt Lake - passing along through the Sage valley about 8 miles to where the same terminates in a Canyon. Follow up the Canyon 2 miles and the road crosses over to the South side on a Toll Bridge. The River is about 75 yds wide, muddy water and swift current. Leave the River at this point and follow more southerly up a willow brand about 6 miles, thence over a summit about 2 miles and camp in a willow gulch with a few springs of poor water just above the road. Distance traveled 16 miles. Rabbits. Sage. hens & chickens seem to abound. Black crickets are found here in immense numbers. | Set out this morning Eastward upon the Stage road leading towards Salt Lake - passing along through the Sage valley about 8 miles to where the same terminates in a Canyon. Supplies are furnished here from Kelton as the C.P.R.R. by teams a distance of about 300 miles. The stages from Salt Lake, Nevada, Idaho & Oregon, make this a central point, and here is where the miners of a large District of Country obtain their supplies.
