Dear Brother Isaac
Yours of - I cannot remember the date, and it is over at Mother's now - was joyfully received last Sat. evening, the 3rd inst. Very much obliged I have been expecting a letter every mail for some time. It was mailed at Grouts, I noted. I understand from Eliab that your station was removed to Northfield again, at which piece of information I did rejoice for your sake. How is it? Was he mistaken? Josie and Eliab were both here last week. E. spent a week - Jos. came up Sat, and back Monday. Charles and Albina went to Atkinson last week to visit some of her Uncles, but came back without finishing their visit, a Charles Metcalf was quite unwell - teething, which you know usually makes children "cross" to say the least. He is better now. I was over there Friday. Mother has been almost sick of a cold, but is better now. Lissie was quite sick a few days, but is well now I believe. She is a sweet child. Perhaps tis because she belongs to our folks, but it seems to me I never such a lovely little thing - so good, and so sensible too. She has been petted enough to spoil a common child. Samuel went into the woods yesterday. John is at school. Mehitable has gone out to the Village, and Alfred is doing the chores, so I am all alone, enjoying myself. I went over home and staid while the boys were there. Eliab is as gay as ever. Interested
