I wrote a note to Mrs. Pomroy - dropped in P. O. Mary is engaged to Mr. White. Mrs. Chase's family intend to move to Royalston early in the spring.
I suppose my letter has reached you by this time so you can form a pretty good idea how I am situated, the school is at least as easy and pleasant as I could expect; no school,- especially of young ladies- can be free from care, labor, anxieties, none can be very easy in its management. but in the condition of the school, the character of the village and my situation in general, I have reason to think myself favored. The people here seem [[staid?]] and reliable, I judge from various things.  
I suppose my letter has reached you by this time so you can form a pretty good idea how I am situated, the school is at least as easy and pleasant as I could expect; no school,- especially of young ladies- can be free from care, labor, anxieties, none can be very easy in its management. but in the condition of the school, the character of the village and my situation in general, I have reason to think myself favored. The people here seem staid and reliable, I judge from various things.  
Mr. Pillsbury has been, here six years,- my predecessor three years- Mr. Hopkins was here seven years, longer than in any other one place.

Mr. Tinker is one of the best of men and an excellent preacher has a interesting family, three, in the academy. the church of the sabbath is filled - prayer meetings well attended: the village contains about 2500 inhabitants, three churches well filled,- it is a church going people, consequently a good town of feelings prevails.
