<p>The General goes north at the same time. Will probably have a short leave of absence before the Spring Campaign opens when he will have a command much larger than his present one. Grant has been made [Lieut?] [Genl?]. We were all very glad to hear of it. He may be made Commander in Chief but he will not go to Washington to stay. He knows his bus too well for that.
