Dear Mr. Conroy:  My date of 1947 was wrong.  The first time the Ballad of Kansas City was printed was some 21 years previously.  You have my permission to print it under that name and edit it to suit your requirements.... I had intended to send you several similar Ballads such as "Mark Twain,"  "John L.
