Description	This compilation, a single, national-level synthesis in shapefile format of all changes in the size, shape, and location of every state and territory in the U.S. (and their equivalents), from 1783 to 2000, provides a separate nationwide set of polygons for each date when a mappable boundary change occurred; changes dated to the day. Shapefiles are complemented by an attribute table with supporting information. The data are in the WGS84 geographic coordinate system.
